Thinking of You Dad

Just a fun Dad card for you today. I used a circle punch to make the cork circles, it punches really easily. The stamps are from Unity and Hero Arts.

Unity Friends With Flair Friday Blog Hop

Here's what I made this week, a card for my hubby. I love this juke box stamp! It brings back memories as we had an old juke box in our basement rec room when I was growing up. Oh, how my Dad loved that thing! It was full of old records from the 1940's and 50's, which is why I learned so many of those songs. My brother and I snuck some Beatles and other 45's in there so when our friends came over we could play some "cool" music. Thanks for visiting today. Please leave a comment.

Unity Friends With Flair Friday Blog Hop

This was my first attempt at stamping directly on cork and I was surprised how well it worked out. The cork is also easy to die cut or punch. I used Tsukineko Memento Ink, which is a dye ink, so it dried very quickly. The butterfly stamp is from Unity's April 2010 Kit of the Month, which is full of cute images! I colored the butterfly image with Copic markers and added the glittery polka dots with a brown Spica glitter pen. Try stamping on cork, I think you will like it too. Thanks for visiting today, please leave a comment and become a follower of my blog. See you next time!

Fun With Fabric Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

For this fun challenge you had to use fabric in your creation. I chose to use a piece of torn fabric as a ribbon and a fabric yo-yo for the hand crocheted flower center. Cath over at Moxie Fab world would like you to join in the fun too! Check out all the details at: www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/05/fun-with-fabric-challenge.html

Berry Sprinkles, yummy! Head on over to http://www.prima.typepad.com/ to check out these goodies and all the fun happening over there.

Spring Theme Challenge

For this card I made my own background papers using stamps and pink and gray ink. The small flower is from Gina K's Nana's Needlework Stamp set, the dotted circles are Hero Arts and the larger flower is from Inkadinkadoo. I usually gravitate towards brighter colors so I wanted to challenge myself to use more muted tones and gray is a softer alternative to black ink.

Stampendous Saturday Sketch Challenge & Paper Crafts Planet Challenge

The challenge was to follow the sketch over at http://www.papercraftsplanet.com/ and to also incorporate the stamp masking technique. I combined both into one card using the Stampendous Ruffled Blooms set and a little butterfly from Gina K Designs. Hope you enjoyed seeing it.

A Muse Lounge Card Challenge

The challenge for the month of May is titled "2,4,6,8 Who Do We Appreciate?". The idea is to create a thank you card for someone. I make cards for Operation Write Home and wanted to make one that I can send to Any Hero along with my sincere appreciation for their service to our Nation. Operation Write Home is a wonderful organization that collects handmade cards to ship overseas so that military personnel have nice cards to send home to loved ones. They also collect letters and cards of appreciation that are distributed to those who receive little or no mail. You can check out their website to find out more at www.operationwritehome.org. Unity Friends With Flair Friday Blog Hop

I went with something fairly quick and easy today. The frame is from Unity's Everyday Adorable, the sentiment is from the Birthday Chic set and the flower pot and flowers are from the Unity March 2010 Kit of the Month. A little stamping, a little paper piecing and a bit of ribbon and it was done! Hope you enjoy! Please leave a comment and become a follower of my blog, thanks!

Hi Friend!

I made this card for the Stampendous Saturday Sketch.I had a lot of fun embellishing this card, so much so, that I only had room for a sentiment stamp, that has never happened to me before! The sentiment is one of my favorites from Stampendous, I use it all the time!
