Unity Friends With Flair

Not much to say today, except I finally got my Unity July Kit of the Month and I am having so much fun playing with it, as you can see from these two cards above. I know the kit wasn't late in getting to me, it's just that I have been seeing all the wonderful images on the Design Team's Blogs for a couple of weeks now and I was impatient! I also bought some new paper from October Afternoon (top photo) and American Crafts (bottom photo) which I just had to use on these cards! Hope you enjoyed seeing these, please leave a comment. Thanks and have a blessed day!

You Simply Shine

I made this card for a couple of weekly challenges. First up is the Tuesday Trigger over at http://www.moxiefabworld.com/ The Moxie Fab Trigger Photo of party lanterns is so fun! In my take on the photo, I decided to continue the lantern theme while pulling in the bright, summer colors.
I also used a sketch for this challenge from www.2Sketches4you.blogspot.com Check out their fun website and give their challenges a try. You might find the inspiration you need to break out and try a new style.

American Crafts Foam Tapes Week Challenge

I made this happy card for the current challenge hosted by American Crafts. I used American Crafts paper (one of my FAVS) and American Crafts ribbon. The stamp is from Unity Stamp Company's July 2010 Kit of the Month, which is full of adorable, really usable images!

Card Style Clean and Graphic Challenge

I made this card for the Card Style Clean and Graphic Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. This is one of my favorite style to work in, so I had a lot of fun doing this. The couch and sentiment stamp are from Gina K Designs Fine Furnishings and Fine Furnishings Additions Sets, which are full of adorable parlour images and cute sentiments to match. Hope you enjoyed seeing this card, come back and visit again anytime.

Card Style Classy and Elegant Challenge

Paper Crafts Magazine has another fabulous new special issue just released called Card Style. I created this card for their Card Style Classy and Elegant Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. Classy and Elegant style is not something I do often, so this was a little difficult for me.

Moxie Fab World Challenge

I created this card for the Finding Inspiration in a Layout Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. Using the provided scrapbook layout I was inspired by the fresh colors to create this card. The pattern papers are from October Afternoon which has some of the cutest paper out there! Hope you like this. Please leave a comment, I do read and appreciate them all. Have a blessed day!

Unity Friends With Flair

Just a quick post today to share this card I made last week for the Unity Hip Hop Challenge over at Split Coast Stampers. I turned the sketch 90 degrees. The cute little flowers are from Prima. I gave the kraft card stock some texture with a Cuttlebug Embossing folder. Hope you liked seeing this, leave a comment please. Have a blessed day!

Unity Friends With Flair

Hi friends! Today I have a happy butterfly card for you. The butterfly image is from the Unity Stamp set "Bevy of Butterflies", which is such a fun and versatile set. The sentiment is from a Kit of the Month (I think). I attached the butterflies to the card in the centers only, leaving their wings free, and used some buttons as their bodies to give them a bit of dimension. Hope you enjoyed seeing this card! Leave a comment and become a follower- I really appreciate it!

American Crafts Ink Pads Challenge

I found another fun challenge over at http://www.americancrafts.typepad.com/. For this challenge you had to use ink, stamps, and at least two American Crafts products. I love American Crafts products, especially the paper! For this card I used paper from the Backyard collection and the Mini Mark Rub-Ons called Sprout Accents. I made the background music paper with a sheet music stamp and a birthday sentiment.

My Pink Stamper Color Challenge

Robyn, over at http://www.mypinkstamper.com/ has issued a color challenge that is due today. You can make any kind of project you would like but you must use the colors pink, brown, green and orange. I had not really used my Create a Critter Cartridge yet, so I decided to check out the images there and found this cute dinosaur and volcano. I think I will send this to my great-nephew to let him know I am thinking of him. Have a Dino-Mite day!

Unity Friends With Flair

Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by today. Don't you just love celebrations? Birthdays, especially. I love the process of selecting, buying and wrapping a special gift for someone I love. And of course, I love making a special card to go along with that handpicked gift. For this birthday card I used the cute cake image from the May 2010 Kit of the Month. Inside I used two sentiments, one from the June 2009 KOM and the other from Birthday Chic. Don't be afraid to mix stamps from different sets and use sentiments that did not originally accompany the image stamp, the possibilities are endless!
Please scroll to yesterday's post to see my exciting news about being published! Also please leave a much appreciated comment and have a blessed day!

The two cards they selected are featured in the article "All That Glitters" beginning on page 26, my cards are on page 27. This issue is chock full of great card ideas, so pick up a copy when you see it on newsstands.

This is my first publication and I am thrilled to have my work honored in this way. I encourage all of you who have been thinking of submitting your work to do so, you never know what might happen!

Stampendous Saturday Sketch Challenge #11

I made this card for the Stampendous Saturday Sketch Challenge using a new set of Stampendous Stamps made exclusively for Archiver's. The set comes with two sentiments and two bouquets of flowers that are fun to color using Copic markers or colored pencils. I added a little glitter to the flowers and used some Dragonfly Bling to add an additional sparkle. Hope you enjoyed seeing this one! Please leave a comment, I read and appreciate them all.

A Muse Monthly Challenge

This month's challenge in the AMuse Lounge is to create a one layer card. It turns out that is harder to do than you would think, especially when all your 3D embellishments are all around you! For this card I first used some blue chalk and a scalloped circle mask to make the clouds and sky. Then I stamped the kites, colored them with Copic markers and added a little detail with Spica glitter pens. The sentiment is a perfect match for the kite theme. Hope you like it, please leave a comment and let me know.

Thinking of You Dad

Just a fun Dad card for you today. I used a circle punch to make the cork circles, it punches really easily. The stamps are from Unity and Hero Arts.

Unity Friends With Flair Friday Blog Hop

Here's what I made this week, a card for my hubby. I love this juke box stamp! It brings back memories as we had an old juke box in our basement rec room when I was growing up. Oh, how my Dad loved that thing! It was full of old records from the 1940's and 50's, which is why I learned so many of those songs. My brother and I snuck some Beatles and other 45's in there so when our friends came over we could play some "cool" music. Thanks for visiting today. Please leave a comment.

Unity Friends With Flair Friday Blog Hop

This was my first attempt at stamping directly on cork and I was surprised how well it worked out. The cork is also easy to die cut or punch. I used Tsukineko Memento Ink, which is a dye ink, so it dried very quickly. The butterfly stamp is from Unity's April 2010 Kit of the Month, which is full of cute images! I colored the butterfly image with Copic markers and added the glittery polka dots with a brown Spica glitter pen. Try stamping on cork, I think you will like it too. Thanks for visiting today, please leave a comment and become a follower of my blog. See you next time!

Fun With Fabric Challenge in the Moxie Fab World

For this fun challenge you had to use fabric in your creation. I chose to use a piece of torn fabric as a ribbon and a fabric yo-yo for the hand crocheted flower center. Cath over at Moxie Fab world would like you to join in the fun too! Check out all the details at: www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/05/fun-with-fabric-challenge.html

Paper Crafts Magazine Go To Sketch Challenge Winner!

Winning entry: Spools and Buttons

Woo hoo! I am so honored to have my card selected as a winner for Paper Crafts Magazine Go To Sketch Challenge over on the Paper Crafts blog! Check out the post at

May's Prima Product Picks

Berry Sprinkles, yummy! Head on over to http://www.prima.typepad.com/ to check out these goodies and all the fun happening over there.

Spring Theme Challenge

For this card I made my own background papers using stamps and pink and gray ink. The small flower is from Gina K's Nana's Needlework Stamp set, the dotted circles are Hero Arts and the larger flower is from Inkadinkadoo. I usually gravitate towards brighter colors so I wanted to challenge myself to use more muted tones and gray is a softer alternative to black ink.

Stampendous Saturday Sketch Challenge & Paper Crafts Planet Challenge

The challenge was to follow the sketch over at http://www.papercraftsplanet.com/ and to also incorporate the stamp masking technique. I combined both into one card using the Stampendous Ruffled Blooms set and a little butterfly from Gina K Designs. Hope you enjoyed seeing it.

A Muse Lounge Card Challenge

The challenge for the month of May is titled "2,4,6,8 Who Do We Appreciate?". The idea is to create a thank you card for someone. I make cards for Operation Write Home and wanted to make one that I can send to Any Hero along with my sincere appreciation for their service to our Nation. Operation Write Home is a wonderful organization that collects handmade cards to ship overseas so that military personnel have nice cards to send home to loved ones. They also collect letters and cards of appreciation that are distributed to those who receive little or no mail. You can check out their website to find out more at www.operationwritehome.org. Thanks for visiting today.

I went with something fairly quick and easy today. The frame is from Unity's Everyday Adorable, the sentiment is from the Birthday Chic set and the flower pot and flowers are from the Unity March 2010 Kit of the Month. A little stamping, a little paper piecing and a bit of ribbon and it was done! Hope you enjoy! Please leave a comment and become a follower of my blog, thanks!

Hi Friend!

I made this card for the Stampendous Saturday Sketch.I had a lot of fun embellishing this card, so much so, that I only had room for a sentiment stamp, that has never happened to me before! The sentiment is one of my favorites from Stampendous, I use it all the time!
