Here are several cards I made for the Gina K/Stamp TV August Design Team Guest Spot challenge. These cards include one of my favorite techniques - coloring. Gina has a technique video on coloring with colored pencils and has used Copic markers in other videos. When I first started coloring my stamped images I used colored pencils exclusively, but then I discovered Copic Markers! If you have used them then you know how fabulous they are. Because they are alcohol based they blend beautifully and do not cause the paper to pill or tear. Gina K Designs has so many stamps that are perfect for coloring.
This stained glass window card also uses the cracked glass technique, although in the end I chose not to crack the glass because I felt it would look better smooth. I created the window using several Gina K Stamp sets. The oval in the center is from the Versatile Verses set. The panes (lines of leading) are created using one of the stamps from the In Stitches set, carefully placing the images using a Stamp a Majig. I then used A Year of Flowers to create the leaf in the center of the window. I colored the image using my Copic markers to give a stained glass effect and added the Glossy Accents for dimension. I think this is a good example of how versatile Gina K Stamps are, with several sets I was able to create something that the stamps were not even designed for. I encourage you to look at your sets with a new eye and see what you can create.
The cards below also use the Adding Glitter with Pens technique and the Patterned Embossing technique using a Cuttlebug folder as well as coloring with the Copic markers.
