Birthday Chic!

This girly birthday card uses Gina K Designs Lovely Labels and Nana's Needlework Stamp sets along with a sentiment stamp from Unity Stamp Company. Sweet Pea Baby Card

I don't currently have many babies to make cards for, however, I do have some friends in Italy who are expecting their first child this month, so perhaps this card will make its way there. I used Gina K Designs Lovely Labels, which is a very versatile stamp set. The sentiment and the Pea Pod are from A Muse Art, so cute!

Copic Certification!

Big news, I am now Copic Certified! These are the most amazing art markers I have ever used. I was so thrilled to be able to attend the Copic Certification Class yesterday, taught by Sally Lynn MacDonald. She is an awesome teacher and I learned so much. Now I am certified to share my knowledge with others; I am not sure where this will lead me, either teaching on my own or for a retail scrapbook/card shop. For right now, I am content just practicing the new techniques and playing with my markers!

If you are not familiar with Copics, you should check out their website or see them in action at a store near you. They are alcohol (no odor) based and blend beautifully. They can be used on paper and all sorts of other materials, such as plastic, metal, ribbons, etc. Because they are alcohol based, they do not tear up your paper, no matter how much ink you use, making them perfect for coloring stamped images. At first it seems that they are expensive, but, because they are refillable they end up being cheaper than other markers in the long run. Believe me, once you try them, you will want these markers. Better to have a few really good markers than a whole set of cheaper ones.

My Pink Stamper Challenge

For this card I used two different Cricut Cartridges. The pickle jar is found on From My Kitchen, the pickles and sentiment are from the new cartridge "Just Because" Cards. Live the Life Butterflies

I loved this Posh Designs Scrapbook Store Sketch Challenge, it has a fun and funky feel to it.

I also made this card for Cupcake Craft Challenges Make your own flower challenge. I made the flower from some acetate packaging ( I love to recycle stuff into crafts!). I cut it out using Spellbinders Nestabilities, embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder, colored it with a Copic marker and added a brad and a pearl. Voila, trash to treasure! Check out the challenge at

Gina K Designs April Ilustrator Challenge

For this challenge I chose the children's book The Quiltmaker's Gift as my inspiration. I love to quilt and I received this book as a gift from a quilting friend about 6 years ago. It is a wonderful story about an old woman who makes beautiful quilts to give to the poor. The King finds out about her quilts and wants one for himself. She agrees to make him one if he will give away his possessions. It is filled with wonderful watercolor illustrations, including many of quilts. It is a delightful story with a wonderful message for people of all ages. For my card I chose to use Gina K Designs new set Nana's Needlework which has some wonderful images related to quilting, knitting and lace. I colored the image with Copic markers to give a watercolor effect and added a bit of glitter for some sparkle. Hope you enjoy this! Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

Vintage Lace Notecard

I love the juxtaposition of the delicate lace and ribbon with the rougher Kraft card stock. The doily and lace stamps are from Gina K Designs new set by Nina Brackett- Nana's Needlework. What's Cooking?

I think the combination of these cute Hero Arts Stamps and Cosmo Cricket papers and stickers make a fun card. I stamped the apron image on multiple papers and paper pieced them together to make the bright, fun apron. Leave a comment and let me know what you think.

ATU02 Challenge

All Things Unity is a new blog and challenge spot for lovers of Unity Stamps. This card is for their second challenge about going green. You can use green colors, recycle something in your card or use scraps. I did all three in one card! Picking Up The Pieces Challenge

For this fun Easter card I used the emboss resist technique to make the dyed egg, then decorated it with various trims.

Posh Designs Scrapbook Store Sketch Challenge No. 11

For this sketch challenge I made my own strip of "Crazy Quilt" paper. I laid down scraps of paper onto double sided adhesive leaving space between for glittery embossing powder. After heat embossing simply peel off the backing and adhere to card. Now it is hard to throw out even the smallest of scraps!

Cuttlebug Challenge Easter Card

I used the Cuttlebug to dry emboss the card and cut the egg and labels using Nestabilities. I dyed the Easter Egg paper using the shaving cream technique, which is so fun to do. Hope you like it!

A Muse Lounge Challenge

This card was inspired by one of Julie Ebersole's Creations that I saw on Split Coast Stampers. Hers was done in tones of red/pink. I did mine in the colors of my husband's favorite Coffee Shop, can you guess the name????

I love this new cling stamp from Hero Arts, one of my favorite stamp companies. Instead of ink, I used Ranger's Acrylic Paint Dauber in an aqua color called Pool. I then used Stickles for the flower centers. The pattern paper is from K and Company and the sentiment stamp is from Unity. This was my first try using acrylic paint insteaad of ink and I like the result. The paint cleans off the stamp with water, no problem!
